An energy modeling study to recommend actions to reduce energy consumption in the Li Ka Shing Building. The primary focus of the study is to investigate the feasibility of installing the Aircuity HVAC components and controls. This study provides a baseline energy performance for the building and establish anticipated energy use for the upgrades. The previous analysis proved highly successful with the Katz Building.
The objective of this project is to compare the results of an as-built baseline model to an upgraded energy model. The baseline model is created as per the existing conditions and calibrated to the annual operational energy usage. Once calibrated, the energy model’s HVAC file is modified using the Aircuity modified ventilation inputs. A thorough assessment of the results is aimed at maintaining proper baseline values, while maximizing the energy savings through air change reductions.
